Empowering Ugandan Children Through Sports, Education, and Opportunity

At Sembeza Africa, we believe in a future where every child, no matter their circumstances, can dream, grow, and thrive. Together, we can make that future a reality.

WHY IS OUR INTERVENTION NEEDED?

Uganda has the second youngest population in the world.

78% of Uganda’s population is under the age of 35, which means the country’s future is in the hands of its youth. However, many young people face overwhelming challenges that threaten their opportunities to build a better life:

These statistics paint a clear picture of a young population in need of immediate support and opportunity. Without urgent intervention, Uganda’s young people will continue to face barriers that prevent them from realising their full potential.

Empowering the next generation of Ugandans

At Sembeza Africa, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to shape a brighter future. Through our sports programs, we open doors to improved physical health, education, conservation, and tourism, helping children see the world with a holistic perspective.

We’re dedicated to empowering young people by guiding them toward personal growth and well-being, while creating a positive impact in their communities.

“We’re shifting the focus from seeing sports as just a competition, to truly viewing each child as a person. It’s about understanding the impact of various things in a child’s life. This is how we can help shape their future.”

– Andrew Byekwaso, CEO of Sembeza Africa & Sports Uganda
